Firestop special inspection is a new challenge for everyone in the construction industry and if a project starts off on the wrong foot, it is hard to get back on track. When we are doing special inspection of firestop, we have a preconstruction meeting that sets the entire team up to head in the right direction reducing the lability for all involved as well as reducing the need for reworking improper installations.
If you engage Sharron early and heed the advice she gives in her pre-con meeting you will be able to avoid a litany of problems before you even start.
I was recently involved in a job that involved many complex circumstances dealing with firestop. I was given Sharron’s number for third party inspections and was so thankful for that. Sharron is by far the most knowledgeable person I have met with regards to fire safety, specifically firestop. She is very professional and extremely helpful. She held my hand the entire way and was always there to answer questions and help in any way that she could. This is rare for someone working in her capacity as an inspector. Given her knowledge, there were many times that I felt like it was the wrong decision as things had to be redone; but she helped us get through it and correctly, providing the safest conditions possible. I can assure you that I will call her again for my next job, but it will be as a consultant. Sharron is someone that you want on your side and not the opposing side.

Sharron has always been a great help whenever I have big projects I am inspecting. She is very knowledgeable in her field and enthusiastic about what she does. If you ever get an opportunity to attend one of her training courses I highly recommend it.
