Floor Ceiling Assemblies vs. Concrete: Key Firestop Differences

Our last build better crew had some great discussions. We went over some of the differences between floor ceiling assemblies and other floor types so that our crew had a better understanding of what can go wrong when it comes to proper construction. We answered some of the Crews questions related to “what’s the difference between these two details” and the crew saw that neither of them were code compliant firestop details. SHOCKER- BUT TRUE!

We also talked about a few ways that shaft wall fire rated joints are different, particularly how they interact with floor ceiling assemblies and their unique requirements for firestop compliance.
